Groovin' Blanket
Groovin' Blanket Pattern
Groovin’ is all about letting go of order and using randomness to create something groovy. I suggest using at least 10 colours to really go crazy with colour combos you may not ordinarily choose.
The pattern is written for the 2 colour version, as shown in the pictures of the completed blanket, but of course you don’t have to use this colour way. I’ve offered some variations for you if random and crazy colour combos are just too far out of your comfort zone.
I also include suggestions for joining and a simple border and some tips to help make your crochet look as good as it possibly can.
The 10 page pattern has everything you need to create your own groovy Groovin’ granny blanket, however, to save on printing, the motif pattern itself is on one page so you can print just that one.
The pattern includes;
- a written pattern (you choose UK or US terms),
- abbreviations list of all stitches and techniques
- 2 joining options
- Border pattern
- Some ideas for colour options
Blanket Pattern
The groovy pattern is about 6" (15 cm) across. I made my blanket 7 x 7 squares, so with the cute little border, it measures about 42" x 42" (107 cm x 107 cm).
You will need
26 metres or 28.5 yards for each square.
I used one 100 gram ball of each of the following colours of Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK (equivalent to 8 ply/light worsted) :
Azure, Poppy, Saville, Leaf, Hot Pink, Teal, Soft Lime, Sunflower, Wisteria and Tropical Jade.
Hook: 5 mm
