Greg Crochet Blanket Pattern

GREG stands for Grand and Resplendent Endeavour in Gaiety. He is rather grand and each of the 5 patterns that go together to make GREG are named similarly – Tom, Joe, Tim, Ian are all 5″ patterns and Bob is 15″. Each has their own style and look but they all come together to make a statement blanket you will want to display.

GREG was designed to be made in a single, elegant colour to create an heirloom piece.

The GREG pattern can easily be changed into a rectangular shape and there are instructions for this in the ebook.

The pattern includes;

  • a written pattern (you choose UK or US terms),
  • abbreviations list of all stitches and techniques
  • round by round photos
  • detailed help with photos for the tricky bits

Blanket Size

The GREG Crochet Blanket Pattern makes an elegant square blanket around 50″ across.

You will need

I used Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply cotton yarn in “Latte” colour way.  You’ll need 2,000 metres (2,187 yards) of yarn to make the whole blanket.

Hook: a 4 mm is recommended with this yarn

How to access the pattern

Clear Instructions

At this time I have only done two test squares. The pattern is very easy to understand and the instructions are very involved and clear. Being a reasonably experienced crocheter a little over the top, next time I will purchase a more difficult/involved pattern.

Beautiful pattern to crochet

This pattern works up beautifully and sits nice and square. I have enjoyed making it although at this point I haven't made a blanket. I've used the pattern for making squares to go over the arms of chairs that show wear and tear. Many have commented on how nice they look!

Interesting pattern.

I am enjoying making this throw. I have recently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, I decided to keep crocheting to keep my fingers active. It is a challenge but an enjoyable one.
