Mayan Crochet Blanket Pattern
Mayan Crochet Blanket Pattern
Inspired by the mystical geometry of the ancient Mayan people, this intricate blanket is an exploration of the Yucatan peninsula through crochet. The radiating lines of the central hexagon reflect the pyramids at Chichen Itza, while the surrounding shapes are reminiscent of the Mayan calendar. Enclosing it all are the rippling forms of the subtropical forest and the clear blue skies.
This motif is equally beautiful made in one colour to show off the stitch work, or worked in multiple colours for a kaleidoscopic effect.
Any crocheter with basic skills will enjoy this crochet adventure. If you can make a granny square, you can make the Mayan Crochet Blanket.
The pattern includes;
- a written pattern (you choose UK or US terms),
- a chart,
- a link to video showing all rounds,
- a full glossary of all stitches and techniques
